Our Story

Docs Who Care started in 1995 when physician, Gary Morsch, MD, learned of one of the biggest challenges facing rural hospitals – keeping their local healthcare providers from burnout. Many of the providers expressed a desire to be free of covering the ED on the weekends.

Dr. Morsch understood the importance rural hospitals have on their communities. His desire was to recruit reliable, high-quality healthcare Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners willing to help create a work-life balance for the local medical staff, and for themselves. Nearly three decades later, partnering with over 250 sites and hundreds of providers, this is exactly what Docs Who Care continues to deliver.

Our Mission

Docs Who Care partners with rural and community hospitals by pairing compassionate quality Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners to provide emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient staffing.
